The snow and cold must be raising heck with some jobs. I would think it would be extremely hard to be a surveyor right now. Do you work outside and if so how has your job changed over the last 5-6 weeks?

I cut concrete everyday. Out side. Trimming precast plank off of a new apartment building going up today. And yes we cut with water. Weather is my enemy

Working mainly on roofs, I feel like all I do anymore is shovel bawling You work as hard as you do in the middle of July, but get half the work done. But it’s all good. waytogo

I feel your pain. Half my day is running in circles keeping stuff from freezing. Methonal can only be used in small mixtures. But I havent been laid off in 10 years or something and I’ll keep the winter struggles going

You can filter water out of air lines in summer, but in winter lines ice up. When ice hits a nail gun cylinder, it blows.

You can dig frozen ground. But when it’s saturated with water and frozen, it’s a nightmare.

Scaling wall plates in winter is fun with all the extra layers on.

Ahhhhh the good ole days! I freakin hated them. Don’t miss it one bit. 35 years of Framing, Roofing, Suping. Yup, don’t miss it one bit.
Only thing worse than the cold was winding up cords and hoses in the spring when they had a million lbs of mud on them.
This year I passed on ice dam removal also. A lot of $$ to be made, but i’m getting waaaaay too old for that.

My solution was to semi retire and do what I wanted at the time of year that I want. Of course I’m working around all my fishing trips! peace

A trip for me is at least a 5 day deal. got 5 of them lined up for this soft water season. And maybe 2 10 day trips to see the FD, FSIL and grandchildren, one will be born about Easter!! woot

I didn’t mind the February we had at all. But I also own a snow removal company. I like it when it snows, but it does cut into my fishing time.

It does suck to work in , but it’s good for the heating buisiness. The worst conditions are generally when equipment that’s been neglected breaks down .

I miss burying utilities. I got up much earlier for my winter work which involved sitting on a bucket, soaking suckers on North Arm Bay with all the regulars, keeping hydrated with Molson.

It’s getting harder and harder to walk from the truck to the house and visa versa…
