I’m putting my “ new to me “ 9.9 together and something seems wrong. Either the bushing or maybe the prop is wrong. I was wondering why the castle nut was on upside down when removing the prop. The prop is in like new condition so my guess is it’s the wrong one.

The prop doesn’t push down into the housing at all because the bushing will not plug into the prop , it’s close but will not go in.

You don’t need a mechanic, you just need the right thrust washer for that motor.

Well that’s what I was wondering, because the prop is an after market prop. The prop is a solas 9.25 x 9 and has YA stamped on it. How hard is it going to be to track down a different thrust washer.

Should be pretty easy, since you know the prop and motor call a prop shop and ask for the thrust washer that matches them up.
