Billy and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary on Friday and we had a wonderful day! We both took the day off and Billy made us breakfast complete with mimosas. He played the first song we danced to while we cleaned up the kitchen and then I played the second song we danced to. I may have teared up a bit and we laughed together. We took the boys (our two German Shorthaired Pointers, Fritz and Remi) for a nice long hike since the weather was cooler and beautiful. Billy surprised me with a new St. Croix Medium-Light Spinning Rod with the Pflueger President Reel and I surprised him with a new rolling stool with tool drawers for the garage. The guys at Northern Tool were very helpful at stuffing the box into a big bag so Billy wouldn’t see what the box was. I stuffed the box under a desk in the spare room and luckily he didn’t see it. He actually started putting it together while we were still at the dining room table.
For dinner we went to The Tavern in Woodbury and splurged on a couple of drinks, an appetizer, and delicious dinner. They have amazing food there and our waitress was very excited for us celebrating our anniversary. When she took our photo she saw the little photo of Remi in the corner and said she has a couple of GPSs too so of course we had to share some fun dog stories. Since we were in the area we headed over to Cabela’s after dinner, and I found a bag of wacky worms in the bargain cave. It’s fun finding things in there that are on extra clearance – the worms came to $3!
It was a great anniversary and I feel like the luckiest wife in the world! Mimosas, homemade breakfast, a lovely hike in the woods, new fishing rod/reel, delicious dinner and drinks, and a pretty purple orchid (I like orchids – they live longer than roses).
