Ottertail Iceout

    Ice is moving out of Ottertail County. Larger lakes are seeing floating islands of ice. With a little wind from the south we should be open by the weekend. Smaller lakes and soft bottom areas areas are clear. I checked my crappie spot on the river over the weekend and it still had ice!

    Update: The crappie hole is open, those lakes opened fast yesterday.

    That’s great! I was thinking about heading up to Otter Tail area for some crappie/bluegill fishing this weekend. Never fished up there in the spring, but love ice fishing that area.
