In the market for a new shelter and can’t decide which to go with. I mainly fish alone but would like room for 2-3 people on occasion. Can you fish 3 comfortably in the Cabin?

Nick, I have a lodge hub and it fishes 2 great and 3 decent, depending on what you are fishing for and how many holes per fishermen. If you where alone you would have all the room in the world!

Nick I have the otter cabin hub. In my opinion it is best suited for 2 people to fish in. Three people if your not fishing inside it. If you mainly fish by yourself you will have plenty of room. Easy to pop up and take down. Also the oversize storage bag is nice. It will go back in easy unlike my older eskimo hub.

I owned the Lodge. I wish I still had it, but I sold it on here.

It’s perfect for two people and four holes. Three would be a little tight but still plenty doable. I slept on a cot in there a few times and let the rattle reels be my alarm.

No way three people will fit in a Cabin. It’ll look like a game of Twister. Gear takes up a lot of room and you need to have safe clearance around a heater.

Fished the Otter Pro Lodge this weekend with 3 people. We were comfortable, no complaints. I’d say ideal for 2 people though. Easy for me to set up solo, too. I’d you’re ever going to fish with 3 people, get the Lodge.

I have the Cabin. It’s a great size for 2 people and gear. Much too small for 3. I’m thinking of selling my Cabin and moving up to something a bit larger.

I have the cabin and fished 3 people in it but it’s tight. If your going mostly by your self and you pull your sled get the cabin. If you have a something to pull your house get a lodge. I got by my self most of the time and pulling the cabin in a foot of snow in hard.

Is the lodge hub that much heavier than the cabin hub?

10lbs difference. They do get heavier with condensation build up between the fabric if your not running a heater. We used my XTH lodge this weekend without a heater in 8F with a 10mph wind. We had our gloves off and the holes never froze over. Packing it away it felt heavier.

We fished 3 people in mine and there was plenty of room for our gear and beer. toast

I purchased the Cabin last year and it was great. Very warm and barely used the heater. Most of the time we fished two people out of it and sometimes three, which is tight, but still worked fine when needed.

I got the Cabin, as I walk on the ice and thought it would be easier to pull that than the Lodge, otherwise would have gotten the Lodge.
