Otter Rod Holders

I was just wondering if anyone has used the Otter rod holders, with a TUCR with a split grip? How well does it work? I just want to make sure before I buy one.

I do but I don’t really like them because the back half of the split grip goes past the end of the rod holder cylinder and gets hung up when you try to take the rod out.

Brad Hawthorne has a great video from a few years back when he was still guiding on Upper Red where he demonstrates how to deadstick a split grip in an Otter house. The only rods I put in my rod holders are my DS sticks with full cork handles. Hope this helps! Pay special attention at approximately 3:55.
