I received my Otter Pro Tech 48 deep rod case and want to get it setup for my monster box. I have the Otter rod case mount but the question is how people have attached the mount to the case. The foam inside the box is glued down pretty well. My thought was 4 nut/bolt/washers but with the foam issue I’m looking for ideas. EM into otter for their response.

Werent the original ones riveted to the box? Otherwise just use a hot iron to make a hole in the foam. A couple dime sized holes in the foam isnt going to hurt anything.

Was hoping to leave the foam all intact but that may not be an option.

just use rivets, predrill the holes and push them through the foam to secure them to the case, the foam should puff back out and mostly cover them afterwards…

I have a friend that used 4 self tapping screws and a specific adhesive, but this was on a scheels box to the same mount. Called into Otter as I didn’t get a response to EM, they said they recommend taking the foam out, using a rivet and washer, gluing foam back down. Sounds odd to me.

its because that’s how they manufactured them when they used to sell the rodboxes with the Monsterbox attachment pre-mounted, I own one
