I was wondering what everyone else does for preparation on their portable shacks. As seen in the title I have a otter pro cabin. And was wondering what I should do to it to get it ready for the ice.

Last year I just aired mine out in the garage for a few days.

Um… make sure there are no holes from mice and use it?

If you made sure it was dry before you stored it last spring and there are no mouse holes, I don’t see why you would have anything to do prior to using it.

I keep my Otter Pro Lodge tucked in the basement in the off season. I think it’s best to go over nuts and bolts/screws to make sure everything is snug before it goes out into the weather. Saves a headache for sure. I found a few that have worked themselves loose. Have a great season!

Do you guys water proof the canvas, lube the zippers, or anything like that as well. I’m also hoping to put the hyfax kit on before the ice hits!

I run a bar of soap along the zipper each fall and put some cooking spray on the pole brackets to make them slide easier…
