Just put hyfax kits on my medium Otter Sled and my Otter Pro Cabin. I was wondering if anyone has any ideas what to put in the base of sled to have a slide-proof, even surface in the base of the sled.

Good question, I’m doing the same thing to on my lodge.

It says to put the nuts on the inside of the tub, is there a reason for that? I was thinking about putting the nuts in the hyfax but after some wear the nuts will be exposed sooner than the bolt head.

Just don’t like the nuts sticking up in the tub.

Can’t get a socket on if you do it the other way Nutz. Going to be up your way by Rice Lake for Christmas at our son’s house. Will be putting the new Otter and Polar Bird to the test with the grandkids.

When I first bought my lodge, I was throwing around the idea of sone dense foam strips to cover the studs and nuts. Never did it though.

For me it’ll have to be light. I pull mine by hand very often.

Use T nuts on the inside with some medium strength Lok-tite. Done it on a couple of my sleds and works great.
You can get them at Menards.

Thanks, like that idea. Need to keep it light as I pull out by hand. Will check out Menards today.

    Hamms,

Do you mean the rubber work mats that lock together, if not what was it.

I cut a left over piece of Reflectic to fit the bottom of my otter. It’s very lite and water proof. It also reflects light and makes it easy to find things in the sled.
