Otter Monsterbox Questions

Has anyone ever mounted an Otter Monsterbox to a snowmobile? I was looking at purchasing a Polaris Touring 2-up in the 1998-2003 range. Would it fit around the rear of the seat? I see it weighs 43lbs which shouldn’t be too bad until loaded up. if you have any pics please post or PM me for a phone number to send a text pic. Appreciate anyone’s input. Maybe I’m overthinking this.

Yeah, I saw that set-up and have to say… I’ve always been a fan of how clean and well laid out the Clam Ice Team sleds are with the shelter mounted on the back and auger on the front. I have to say however, those new IDO sleds take it to the next level! That’s an awesome rig! I’m super jealous. If I could get one of those 2 man polaris long track sleds with that otter box set up and a 2 man Otter Lodge into a standard inclosed 2 sled trailer… I’ve got my new dream ride!

I absolutely love those boxes. The storage is unreal and carrying the auger and propane tanks in the mounts on the sides of each box keeps the gear in the houses from being beat to death by the heavier items during long runs. I wasn’t sure how they’d work on snowmobiles but after doing the installation it seemed like the Monster Box was made custom for my Polaris.

We have no issues getting both sleds with monster boxes on our 12′ trailer with aluminum cover. In fact, they fit like a glove.

I give the Monster Boxes two thumbs up… way up. waytogo waytogo

I just picked up a Polaris IQ WT last year and when I saw this setup on the show the other day I thought I may have found my solution after doing a ton of searching this summer. My question is if anyone has any better pictures of this setup on the snowmobile. I’m wondering if I’ll have clearance to open up the seat storage area and also how wide the setup is with auger carrier on it. Most of my fishing is over some narrow portages up in Ontario searching for giant trout. How do you gain access to the rack under the box? I saw the marcums in there but didn’t know where the access is.

Thanks again for any help in advance. Looks like a great setup. what’s the best way to get one before next weekend?

I’ll shoot you some pics and get you a width measurement tomorrow / Monday and trade you those pics for an invite on one of your trips to chase giant trout. waytogo We’ll be heading out to shoot our next episode for the week so the sleds will be handy. I will say this, everything remains readily accessible including the area under the box in the rack AND the under seat storage. The whole system is SUPER SLICK.

    James,

Thank you for the reply! I’m heading up to Nestor Falls area over MLK weekend. The key word is ‘chasing’ giant trout but there’s plenty of potential to hook up. I’m bringing a few first timers; hopefully not too much trip for them. If you want details on the trip let me know. The more the merrier! Looking forward to the pics..

Can someone please post some pictures of how they attached the box? Very interested in this setup. I had a monster box on my quad but recently sold it. Buying a new sled and after seeing the in depth outdoors episode with the monster box on the sleds I’m hooked! If anyone can help I’d really appreciate it!
