with a growing family im starting to think that instead of getting a full sized truck i may need to get an SUV. will an otter lodge fit in the back of a Tahoe? Suburban?

Think about one of those hitch racks. You could easily add a piece of 3/4″ plywood to most any rack to make a larger platform.
I custom built a larger rack with lights to haul my lodge because on some vehicles it blocked the tail lights.
Loading it onto a rack is also muck easer than hoisting it into the back of a vehicle solo. A cover, 2 tie downs and you are off.

The biggest that I’ve seen work inside an SUV is an Otter cabin.

I think a Lodge could fit in a Tahoe? The newer ones say 79.90 inches of cargo length. I’m not sure about the older models. Surely someone here has measured/tried. Of course this is with the seat folded down.

I have an older Otter Lodge that I was able to load into my 2010 Traverse. I did have to put the 2nd row seats flat. With that I can only transport 2 adults but could pack up the Otter.

It depends on the seating and year for a Tahoe. I have an older 99 Yukon specifically for ice fishing because the lodge easily fits. My 08 Tahoe does not fit a lodge, the bucket seats don’t stow flat enough to allow it. I believe the newest generation of Tahoe again fits a lodge, the bucket seats stow flat.
