Thinking about upgrading my 1 man shelter. I was hoping someone on here has one. If so can someone tell me if its possible to fish a 34″ rod in there comfortably? Thank you

The Hideout has a ton of ice room in it. You won’t have a problem fishing a 34″ rod in it. I run 32″ rods and have plenty of room you won’t have a problem with a 34″ rod.

I agree theres plenty of room out front you will have no problem fishing your 34″ rods. while its not as tall as a lodge at 77″ its still 60″ tall and as long as your hooklets don’t get too out of hand you’ll love it

Just got back from fishing 2 days out of my Hideout and yes a 34″ rod will be no problem. A lot of room out in front of you for sure. Some more opinions of mine on the Hideout. It’s built very well and light it pulls easy although I was on ice with very little snow but with deeper snow the Smitty would take care of that. More than enough space for packing stuff. Very convenient for flipping shut with the solid poles too. One thing they have to fix the is where the wind gets in. I have the extra skirts on but they don’t completely stop the draft at all. Otter needs to find a way to mount a skirt going across behind your legs all the way to the outside rail on the tub. The same way as it is on the Cottage. I’m going to try and do a mod on mine to get that done with some material comparable to the Hideouts fabric. But all in all I really like the shack.

We had a good 2 days of fishing too.

Fish with a Shappell FX 100, experience wind problems at a fraction of the price, expecting more from Otter in a instant one man flip.
