I swore off dish several years ago and don’t see myself going back. We’re running local channels over the air, and streaming Prime and Netflix. The absolute only reason I’d add something else is for the Wild. Frustrating there aren’t better options, but Fubo might be the best one for now.

Other options to get Wild/Twins games?

If you just have the Bally sports plus app, you can’t watch the twins. You have to have a tv provider that has Bally sports. You can watch the wild, t wolves and lynx on the app but not the twins, pretty dumb. I paid for the Bally sports app for about a week and canceled after figuring this out. I was willing to pay $20 a month for it to watch the twins and wild as I really don’t need live tv for anything else. Also have ESPN plus with our Hulu/Disney package which provides a lot of out of market games. The Bally sports app is pretty much worthless once the wild season ends.

For the Wild I say get ESPN+ and a vpn with a fire stick on your tv. Highly recommend Express VPN because I tried others and didn’t work very well. I’ve been doing this all season and it’s been flawless. The stream quality is great. Those Russian sites why pirate the games can be awful.

The buffering is god awful and it’s not my internet because I can stream anything else with no problem. I’m not paying for a $100 month tv package to get Wild games any more. I cut ties with DirecTv streaming a few months ago with little to no regret.
See what the NHL does next year. I’d pay to get a entire NHL package that includes the Wild but it would have to be under $200 for the season.

April 12, 2023 at 1:05 pm #2195372I tried ESPN+ last year toward the end of the season, but did not have a VPN so I cancelled after a couple months. Biggill’s idea probably makes the most sense to keep the cost down.

Bigill, What does that vpn cost a month?
April 12, 2023 at 5:01 pm #2195495Why would you need a VPN? I dont and can use it just fine.
To get the Wild games that are on Bally’s. I have ESPN+ and only get the nationally televised games with no VPN. Do you get all the Wild games on ESPN +?
April 13, 2023 at 7:27 am #2195566Were the Wild games on ESPN blacked out last year? Every playoff game is nationally televised now so Bally shouldn’t matter. I could definitely be wrong here
Yes, every Wild playoff game the past 3 years has been listed on Sling and when I try to watch I either get “error” or “not available on your current streaming service”. It’s only playoff games, and specifically, only playoff games in our local market. I could watch all other teams. I read this was because Bally wanted each individual market to sign up for a streaming service to watch their own home games. I’m not playing that game.

Oh, I only watch the games on ESPN+ that are not on Ballys. The rest I watch on TNT or Ballys.

Dam that blows. I hope Bally crawls in a hole and dies. And stays dead this time.
