Was there last Sunday. They were driving out there then. I believe they got a fair amount of heavy snow. My guess is the lake will be a real mess. That much weight on the ice is likely to cause some flooding under the snow. The fishing was also really poor the few spots we tried. Marked fish but getting them to bite was tough. Not sure why but the bite has seemed off all year there. Crappies were few and far between and Sunfish were much smaller than I had expected. Good luck if you get out. Iā€™m heading a little further north this weekend as well.

    Thanks F-thumper

Now that you mentioned it the bite has been a bit slow this past fall and winter.

What day are you thinking of coming? Maybe I’ll do a drive by today.

Its strange because I keep hearing how good the Sunfish fishing was last summer and Fall. Lots of nice fish being caught. I was expecting it to be a good winter there for sunfish anyway. It seems like its either good sunfish or good crappie there each year. It never seems to be both. This year it was neither for me and my buddies. We keep going there expecting the bite to get better – Just never happened. I was a little surprised to not see Osakis on the list of lakes with reduced sunfish limits – I kind of wish it was.
