Of course. No written body shows up.

I generally put out the oriole feeders on the 25th of April. The earliest I have seen an oriole is the 22nd, until yesterday.

I think with each year’s late winters becoming more moderate in temperature many birds are moving north earlier. Still, late snows can be hard on some species. I’m not sure how adaptable orioles are to sudden cold, but it does seem early to have them here already.

Seen on in my backyard down here in Iowa on Monday. They sure are beautiful birds.

I think some bird species end up here that traditionally never make it this far North because of southern storms and strong south winds. There have been some doves around here for over month. These are NOT mourning doves. Considerably larger and much different song.
Looking forward to seeing Orioles because they generally nest in one of my pine trees, though I dont think I have ever seen a baby one.

Speaking of nests Capt Musky, here’s a Hummingbird nest I found and got a picture of a couple years ago. The egg inside the nest is about the size of the metal band on a common lead pencil that holds the eraser. The nest itself is smaller in diameter than a fifty cent piece.

Every year we have a nest that is occupied in our cedar tree. We always make sure to have feeders on both side of the cedar and a couple in the apple trees near by.

When I was a kid, we would cut oranges in half and put them on a post, the Orioles loved it !!!

Great timing. I was going to post how soon to start the Oriole feeders. I guess now is a good time
