    It’s all personal preference these days. I have not had good luck with mercs and most the guys in are bass club have had big issues with mercs. but I’m sure some guy is going to tell u the exact oposit of what I did so as long as you like it and it fits your needs. Get it.

    Yamaha over merc any day.

    …I am with ya there matt….Living at EVERTS for a number of years, when I hear a motor grinding trying to get it started
    down at the dock or at the launch. 8 out of ten times it is a Merc. doah … …rrr ………Ps Mr. Hix and that’s no Owl Sh%$#.!……(that’s a private joke).

    New?Horse a piece.Used I would say Yamaha(better electrical parts).Tiller model would be Yamaha,Mercury’s standard tiller handle is meh…

    I have a 2014 Merc 90 4stroke with say 20-30 hours on it and its been perfect… but that’s minimal time. Also they redesigned the motor for 2015 its lighter with more torque and also is bigger 2.1L? I have nothing against merc but if the price was the same and I could pick I would go yammy purely based on the positive reviews most people seem to have of them, I think in the last few years both have really made quality products and 4 strokes are being perfected by both manufacturers.
