The morning started off pretty slow with a few gobbles off in the distance but nothing close. Around 7 a hen came out on the other side of the field. Made a few calls to her and she got all fired up and started cutting really hard and turned and headed our way. A few minutes later we heard another hen start calling followed by two gobbles. The two toms worked their way in to the decoys at 5 yards. I shot the first one with my new Bear BR33 he made it about 20 yards and expired. The second tom ran out to him and started to peck at him and my buddy pulled the boom stick out and rolled him over. Was a very exciting hunt first time hunting in Virginia and first bow bird. Hunt ended with a little snow.
