Trying to decide if I head down to the Croix tomorrow. Anybody get on any fish?
Don’t want spots or tactics….maybe just the launches that worked best if you had any luck.

I fished above William o Brian. Caught 1 short eye. Water is fast and sucks!!
The co said out of 40 boats checked, 1 boat had 2 fish. Most hadn’t caught anything….
Besides tough fishing the day sure was nice!!
Went to the Snake-current was not crazy fast but the fishing sucked.
Fished 6-11 out of the boomsite.
Nothin.
You know how the saying goes? “Shoulda been here yesterday.”
I won’t say that tomorrow.
Guess I’m doing yard work tomorrow…next weekend I guess.
Thanks guys….
I snagged back to back fish yesterday in the backside. First was a nice sheep, second was a spawned out 29″ eye. My buddy got a spawned out 23″ female and a 19″ Male. All caught within 30yds of each other over the course of an hour chin rigging small fatheads. Slow otherwise.
Good day for us on Saturday north of the dam. Current was ripping, water temps started out around 43 and up to 47 by the end of the day. we fished current breaks and a mix of pulse-r’s and chubs. Buddies have all the pics on their phones yet but ended up with 4 over 20 all prespawn and so fat! Of course all the big mamas are still swimming, 4 eaters under 20. A couple hamerhandle snakes and a sweet looking sucker. Weird that everyone seemed to have the opposite amount of success. Although all the fish came from a 1/2 mile section of the river. Sometimes the stars align.
Congrats on the good bite Jesse. I didnt have time to get my boat ready so if fished from shore a bit just South of I 94, used jigs and plastics, no takers. Saw a few boats out, one of which must not have gotten the no wake memo, but not near as many boats as usual on opener. I chalked up the poor bite to water temps being too cold and the few boats because Beanies has enough parking for about 2 boats now… literally
River was nice around William obrien. Could mark fish plenty on the breaks 10-16′ adjacent to deeper pools but none were biting.
My dad went north of dam today and they’re having some luck.
Beautiful day in the boat though, cruising up and down nice and slow it was still phenomenal trip out there.
Fished this morning out of the Boom landing.. rough, thought they might be buried in the newly flooded timber but didn’t find any there. Hopefully the best is yet to come when the water recedes
Fished from 5 to noon on Saturday from arcola pilings to the lift bridge. Tried everything and we caught nothing
ick.. slowest opener I ever remember hearing about. I did not get out. River cresting on Thursday I hear?
Opener was slow for my boat…sloooowww! The weather was incredible though, tried a ton of new spots for opener, fun day over all.
Hopefully today some fish start falling back from up north.
Most bites came on fatheads.
Good luck.
Anybody get out this week at all…..I assume it’s still no-wake? I might try and get out on Sunday if the starts align.
Here are some links to the water level.

I am planning on going Saturday morning. I have a few hours to play around Afton or Hudson…hopefully a few ‘eyes have slid back downriver! The debris has!
Got out today for a few hours out of the bluffs, pretty slow still only 2 keepers a 16 and 17, i think the bite is still a week out. Weather was A+ though and no tuna boats out

Probably another week before no wake is lifted.
