    All winter Nathan!

Most all of the reports are in the Mississippi River Forums.

Last weekend was a tough bite. Might have something to do with one of the reactors being shut down a Prairie Island. Water temp dropped 2 degrees like a Richter anchor.

It should be back on line this week sometime.

I miss Everts… need to do some more ice fishing yet to justify the $$ I spent on new gear before the boat gets back out.

I just started walleye fishing last year and I’m addicted now. But I’m still new the the river I’m just trying to get an understanding of when the prespawn is good. I’m thinking around redwing like I did last year. So any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Running out of time for walleyes Tim but there’s still the tasTEE gills to be had.

Nathan, have you read the DNR’s walleye/sauger movement study yet?
I feel it’s a must read for the people interested in fishing the river seriously.
‘Spose I should read it one of these days.

If you haven’t let me know and I’ll get a link up to it. I’m watching paint dry and kind busy right now. )

I just copied Nick’s post. Once you get through the first PDF there’s a link to a ton of river info the DNR has compiled over the years in the second link.

Here is a link directly to that article on the MN DNR Website.

Additionally for those that are interested here are two links to a large number of DNR technical reports available on the website with a little digging. They are often not written directly for public consumption and therefore use many technical terms and citations, but for those willing to dig there is a wealth of information about the fisheries in Minnesota and management efforts for everything from Bluegill to Muskie. The specific report linked above is number 481 on the top link below.

I’m new to P4 as well but plan to fish it several times a year. We have a guide lined up for a half day when we get up there, and will fish the other few days on our own.

We went the 18-19 and the bite was not good. I heard that following Sunday night and Monday guys did very well. Find time to get out and enjoy the outdoors. Catching walleyes is just a bonus.

I plan on making it up to Everts before the end of the month as well. Please check in a let us know how it’s going.
Not sure who you are having take you but I always find the drift straight back from the second pylon of the dam to produce a fish about every drift within a minute or two. Last year I took a few buddies 3 different times and that drift was the hottest for keeper fish.

Any time the temp. hits 32 in the afternoon and the wind is 10 mph or less its time to fish for me. We have been doing fairly well below the Alma dam the last week and a half. Lots of time and lots of water to fish the prespawn, its just getting started.

We have Marty Hahn lined up for a half day on the 20th.
