    I had to ask around because the only scaly fish I knew of in the 80’s was a fly rod caught bluegill…

    Ron is a former PWT TWO-TIME Championship winner and multiple major walleye tourney winner. In the mid-to late 80’s and 20 plus years running, Ron started winning big using, almost exclusively, lead core trolling as his main weapon of choice. He basically forced the rest of many tourney fields to learn how and to perfect lead core trolling on most any walleye lake or river around the country. He will always be remembered as a true pioneer, both generally in the growing of competitive walleye fishing nationally, but surely as THE guy who made lead core trolling a key part of any serious walleye anglers arsenal across the entire range of the walleye world.
