ONE OF THE BEST MORNINGS OF FISHING I’VE EVER HAD
I’ve been meaning to fish this spot for the past several years and I finally got around to it…Couldn’t be happier to have made that decision. From the minute we got there, until the sun came up, the bite was incredible and the trout caught were all beautiful and healthy! Mostly all of them were big too, with the cookie cutter size of the morning probably being 18″. Everything caught was within roughly 2 hours.
Chilly morning for early June but nothing too bad. No wind and the water was fairly clear. We fished a creek mouth that was emptying really clear water and made for quite the contrast into the Colorado river. Dynamic Lures HD Trout Version 2 and Size 18 Gold head caddis fly nymphs made for one of the best bites I’ve ever experienced! I’m starting to get the hang of fly fishing in the rivers a bit, caught some good ones double nymphing
