Don’t care or want to know anything about any other brands. I’ve seen some great deals and I have an opportunity for a purchase that is heavily discounted.

I need new rain gear and also want better ice gear. So the big question is which to get. I was leaning towards the ADRENALINE RAIN , then started looking at their ice gear. How heavy /insulated is their lighter ice gear? Too heavy for rain use??

Who owns it, whatcha have, what’s your recommendation?

If it’s raining it’s too warm for their light ice gear (imo)

I have the Trekker ice suit. I fished with it early sprung in Depere. Its lighter than their other items. Worked good in light rain. Haven’t tried in heavy rain yet.

I use my striker predator bibs with a different rain coat for northern MN walleye opener, on years when the weather sucks. When it’s 40 and rainy and I’m sitting in a boat not walking around it feels really nice to wear them. And I run hot typically.

I believe the predators are on the lighter end of the Striker spectrum, I would not go any heavier as they feel good even in the negative 20 neighborhood which is about as cold as I’ve ever gone out on the ice.

I have their older “Elements” Rain gear, Like the first line they ever came out with. I love it. As far as using an Ice suit in the rain, I wouldn’t want too. The Guardian Used to be the lightest suit they had and in the fall I would run it in the boat and still end up shedding the coat at some point once the sun came up. If you have the opportunity to get it at a steep discount I would try to get a designated rain gear set, and a designated Ice set.

I’ve ran everything they offer at one point or another. Have used them exclusively since Striker became a brand.

I have the trekker bibs. I used them a few weeks ago in the boat and I had to zip open the legs so I could stop sweating. I think they would be far too warm for rain use.

    Randy,
Are you asking if the Striker Ice, fishing suits are suitable for rain?

    They’re not.

The Mrs. and I run the adrenaline rain suits for open water. Last year was the first year with it. Had Cabela’s guide wear prior. The adrenaline suit is a very comfortable suit to wear for open water and kept us dry the entire year. Have zero complaints with it. Would highly recommend that for rain gear/open water. On the ice I run the climate suit. Have had that suit for 3 years now. Amazing suit, however I would not wear it in a constant downpour. It will hold off the water for awhile but eventually will soak through, same as all ice suits. The climate suit does have the removable liners, which I utilize a lot in the spring and fall. In the coldest of temps, I have yet to get cold with the climate suit, and I have very little body insulation. Striker is a great brand, they are local and in my opinion the leader in this category.

If I had to choose only one or the other. I would go with an ice suit over the standard rain gear. Like I said the climate has the removable liners and I utilize that suit spring, fall and winter. The rain suit is utilized summer months only.

    Randy,

    They’re not.

My primary need is rain gear. The want is new ice gear but not a must have thing. Was toying with the idea of IF the lightest ice gear would double over for rain or be way too hot. Even with the cheap rain fair bibs I get hot in 40ish degree temps. So the ice gear is a gross overkill on my needs.

Appreciate everyone’s feedback. Getting the rain gear I need and put off new ice gear for a while
