We went out to Wehrspan last Sat, fought the wind on the lake for 3 hours with nothing to show for it, then went under the bridge on south end and threw anchor out between 2 trees, one above, one below the water but showing. I had one rod with bobber/worm about 3 ft deep, it caught 2 sunfish. My other rod had a silver Cordell Spot Minnow, threw out, count to 3/4/5 (mix it up to get different depths)my 4 count was working the best, overall caught 8 crappie and lost 2 so I could have had the limit that day in about 2 hours time. Other boats came up around me and were bobber fishing, but the Cordell lure was the ticket that day. I switched to a different color with blue/green on top and caught fish with that one too, the first lure was silver. Ended up a great day on the lake! javascript:void(0)
Water temp was 48 degrees, depth was 5.5 feet but I was fishing between 3-5 ft level. Since there is no length limit on crappie in April, it was a great meal for Sunday javascript:void(0)
