Older Ice Castle Weight

I have a 2007 ice castle and a 1/2 ton pickup. I have always waited til at least 13-14 inches of ice to take it out. My local lake is at 12.5 right now and from what it looks like on seeing posts from forums that is usually sufficient for a 1/2 ton and a 17 foot wheel house. Does anyone have any knowledge on if the older ice castles are heavier than the newer ones? Always a little nervous about taking it out for the first time each year. Thanks

Your Castle should have a sticker that tells you your dry or empty weight. Mine is a 8×16 and it is 4000 pounds. 12 is a little less than I would want under me but I hear people do it.

My house is 8×16 + the V. It’s 4500#’s loaded. 12 is more than enough for my house and 1/2 ton truck. This year we have perfect black ice.
