Max drag 6 lbs. Save them for pannies or good for eyes as well? I mostly fish crappie/ walleye baits. 28″ med lt rods. A med Dead meat.

Not a problem for all but trophy eyes IMO.

lots of big fish up here and an occasional 20 lb pike. Ceymar handles them no issue.

I have had bad luck with the 1000’s. I talked to the store I got them at, they are taking them back in exchange for another model.

The back reel (one way roller bearing) went out on one and the other locks up in cold weather. They are new as of a week ago.

I am very familiar with lubriaction requirements for Ice reels. These reels seem too not have any seal whatsoever. A little bit of moisture and they malfunction.

    Going back to Shimano.

I have a Ceymar 10 on a jigging rod. I’ve got several large like with it. The reel handled those fish no issues. I know everyone has different opinions but I haven’t found anything bigger to balance well on ice rods. Unless you need the spool capacity for hard running fish like lake trout, I think you will be fine.

I have a 30 on a 6’10” Ugly Stik Carbon, a 1000 cbf on a 28″ Dead Meat and a 500 cbf on a Scheels $18 ml. Hoping they treat me well. I must say, the $18 Sheel’s ml is just what I’ve been looking for. Slightly stiffer than my 13 White Noise 27″ ml and Fenwick Elite Tech ml.

I had to buy the 500 cbfs. Sheel’s matched Marine General’s price of $35. Grabbed 2.
