Spent the afternoon pulling leadcore for eyes today with the wife and daughter. Started out with 2 keepers in the first 15 minutes then small fish and whites was all we could manage. Wife finaly nailed a nice fat 16″ and I got lucky and got 2 decent crappies one 11 the other 12″. Big surprise came when my rod dropped sharply and drag began to peel, muskie was my first thought. It managed to tangle in my second rod as the daughter was pulling it in, twisted it up in my lead and bound me up about 25′ from the salmo. I ended up hand over hand to get my trophy 8 pound channle cat. Who says you need stinkbait.
Fillets are frying as I type kept the 2 crappies and 3 14-16″ eyes for dinner everything else released.
