Probably a really stupid move, but the RT-9 is selling for $500 shipped online with tablet, performance pack and ice ducer. I already have a Navionics chip so I couldn’t help myself. I also own the Lx-9 and was planning on picking up a lighter LX6 but came across the RT-9 for $500. Literally 8-10 reviews are not great but for the price I figured I would give it a try. Now just hoping Marcum continues to update the unit. Anyone else want to help heal my buyers regret with a Rt-9 success story?

Risky and almost retro! I like it. Maybe you can adapt some of the new Li-shuttle accessories to upgrade that bad boy? devil

I’ve read it’s a good idea to put a Li 4cell battery in the base to allow the tablet to take a full charge. Something about the higher resting voltage.

i’ve yet to hear any type of success story from those who are honest about their purchase and not lying to themselves and others for spending that type of money (when they were released) on a piece of junk… sorry

I used to own the larger Marcum units and switched to the smaller LX-6s with a Dakota lithium battery and love it…

I thought about it for 5 minutes and then decided for the money I would go with a HELIX unit. In about an hour I read more bad reviews than I could have imagined. It went from like $1,600 to now being $500? That may tell you that a $1,600 brick or a $500 brick is still just a brick.

Yeah, not to dog on your purchase, but I think you are going to end up really regretting that purchase. It was a great concept, but fell short in initial price. No way they should have been near that expensive initially.

I would have bought almost any other flasher/ice unit. Garmin or Humminbird has that beat in almost every aspect for less than $500 for certain smaller models…

I have no idea if Marcum will continue to update the unit, but the track record with the other digital units doesn’t make this instance a safe bet…
