Now should we discuss toppers, tonneau covers or why some guys decide to back in to a parking spot versus driving in forward?
If I don’t back my 4 door long box in to a spot, and some one parks near me, I would never get out. But I am a back of the lot Parker so this doesn’t matter. I always have a tonneua cover on to keep mother nature from filling in my box. All winter I’ve had my clam sled house, my auger, 3 rod boxes, 2 propane 20s, a otter resort hub. And I still have room plus my tonneau cover still closes. That’s a functional box.
Not everyone needs a 8′ box. Not everyone needs a diesels pulling power. Not everyone needs a lifted truck. It’s what makes you happy. I look at some of these Harleys I see riding around and say… why ? Why all the chrome…? Why the custom paint jobs… they don’t make it anymore efficient or useful ? One guy is happy with a stock 883.. and the next is not. Different strokes for different folks the way I see it.
^Likewise. Everyone has their own wants and needs.
Do Rams need all the stickers? …probably not. But they do add HP and reduce drag at high speeds (or so I’ve been told).
Everyone says different strokes until they see a donk rolling through the neighborhood.
Living on Maui for 2 years… nothing that rolls by me will surprise or irk me. I have seen the most lifted trucks you’ll see outside a monster truck rally… to the lowest low rider that would make a Mexican job look lifted.
The truck you’re describing is what I drive and it fits my needs perfectly. It is an extremely rare occasion that I need the extra bed length.
Edit: no lift kit though. I’m with you on those..
I just wished they more trucks with the 6 1/2 bed, but it looks like bigger truck for me.
still wondering why a 5″ lift on a daily driver on the highway.
Same reason a guy puts 6′ ape hanger forks on his chopper.
Ape hangers are the very tall handle bars, not the long fork. FYI
You have never seen a chopper with stretched forks and ape hangers ? You need to get out more (you know what I meant.. fyi)

Starbucks drive-throughs. Have you seen the ridges of snow they leave in these? I mean man, why plow at all? Some of these are multiple inches high, I mean totally NOT Tesla friendly.
If half of suburbia didn’t have a jacked up 4×4 they’d die of caffeine withdrawal symptoms within hours.

No doubt. The stickers are what gives them the power to pull around those dinosaurs like in the ad.
The price of trucks has gotten to be insane these days, so I don’t like putting any unnecessary miles on my truck because I don’t want it to depreciate any faster than it already is. I will opt for my car unless I “need” the truck for something. I got a nice little grocery getter corolla 5 years ago for $6k and that is my daily driver unless I need the truck for hauling/clearance/towing/hunting/dog training etc. The corolla is cheap to own/insure/fix, gets great gas mileage, and is reliable. Not to mention I can fit in any parking spot and not have to worried about getting doored. I’ve avoided putting almost 40k miles on my truck by having this car. Big trucks are great but I don’t need to drive mine everywhere.
I also have a Corolla for all my driving around miles. I have a truck for truck duties. Corolla gets double the mileage of most trucks and like stated I keep thousands of miles off the truck and drive the wheels off the car.
I must have a big penis truck, cuz it’s rusted to sh!t and compensates for nothing. I might guess that a 4” lift would keep the wife from borrowing it. Mine doesn’t like to get in mine as is, but I think she is afraid she might need to get an updated tetanus shot if she sits in it. I can’t wait for the day my floor rusts through so I no longer need to keep a chew spitty in the cup holder and can just spit through the floor.
Can’t even haul 8EFE28AEBA5BFD44 in the bed, completely worthless.

Never understood this thought process.
If I pay $100K for a truck I’m going to drive it everywhere, I’ll drive it 100ft to my mail box and back
and
with no seat covers, wearing fancy jeans.
Dang, this is a tuff crowd. I’m glad no one here has a Honda Ridgeline with the little coffer damns at the front corners of the bed.

No doubt. It depreciates the minute you drive it off the lot. Might as well enjoy it.

I agree. That like having a nice boat and then fishing out a crappy one to save on hours.
Careful with those rhinestones sewn on your rear pockets.

I don’t care about depreciation, just lasting as long as possible. There’s no utility in driving a truck for some things if you have another option. Why spend more on gas, wear out more expensive tires, accumulate miles towards more expensive service, etc to go get groceries or commute? If I need a truck then I drive that, if I don’t then I drive our other vehicle.
Ridgeline you say? You too can have a compensation “truck”!
yeah u need a extra big wiener to compensate for a “truck” that small.
How in the world is a Tesla Cybertruck a truck?
Does the DMV classify them as a truck?

I believe they are classified as a dumpster

I think it’s safe to say that people paying $100k for a truck don’t have the same thought process that I do
Well – lets see if I’m still in a time out. Wasn’t able to post anything all afternoon.
Eelpout – I see Amazon has everything you need for those fancy jeans
