Alright so I’m bringing 621 up to lake of the woods which is equipped with 250 Merc Pro xs.

I will be staying on Oak island for 6 days and will make frequent runs up to the big narrows region. I generally run my boat right around 45 mph to be more fuel efficient. To be safe how many quarts of oil should I bring up.

    thanks!

How many do you use per tank of gas? How many tanks of gas do you think you will use?

I have never really monitored since I usually top of my oil once it gets down to about 3/4’s full. I have had the boat for less then a year, so estimating oil is brand new to me. I have always ran 4 strokes in the past.

I’m not sure on exact numbers but with my Etec 250 I usually factor a 50/1 ratio. Every 50 gallons of gas I add another gallon of oil – give or take a bit. Fill up the reservoir before you leave, take an extra couple gallons with you and keep one in the boat for emergency use. if you don’t use it you can always bring it home.

Yeah, fill it up and take an extra gallon. A 250 proxs should have a few gallon tank. You could throw a gallon in the boat to be safe, you shouldn’t go through 50 gallons on a one way trip I wouldn’t think.

I agree. Fill it up and take two gallons. You likely won’t need one but piece of mind.

@Brad110 I called the Marina but no one picked up, you could try them as well the phone number is 218-223-4201. Youngs Bay resort does not have oil for sale, so they gave me the number to the Marina. Good luck!
