Crap kicker season (aka ch!t kickers). Kind of surprised how quickly stuff in our yard is soaking in and evaporating. Only pumped out 2 low spots for one day and those are basically gone now. Sheet water in the fields has gotten pretty severe but our driveway and yard is drying out nicely. Pumped the 2 low spots into the garden and the fall tilled soil soaked it up nicely. Last fall tilling it was unbelievably dry, so hopefully that helps dump some moisture in past just the top soil.

Well boys, get all those honey do projects done like painting the bedroom or fixing that leaky faucet. Soon prime fishing will be here and you don’t want a mad wife ruining things. Get those brownie points built up.

You have it all wrong. This is the time to be fishing. Projects were for mid winter. And wives always complain so just do what you want any ways.

Winter for me and my buddies is ice fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, and winter camping. Winter breakup, unsafe or slushy ice and closed fishing till opener are my stay at home project season. I hate mud.

I’ll occasionally do some late ice trips and they can be great. However my brain is usually over it by now and thinking about open water, stream trout fishing, and turkey hunting. That will hold me over until walleye opener.
