I booked my site for camping on Pool 4 from 10/7-10/9. Last year we fished for walleye at roughly the same time of year and did not have the best of luck. We pitched rock and did some trolling. What is the typical location at this time of year? Is it the head of the lake and up to the Dam? Or can the walleye/sauger still be caught off the main lake points? What presentations are the go to presantaion in early October?

    Thanks!

A week ago I could help you out but with the rain and rising water it really doesn’t matter what or where is working today, it’s going to change by the time you’re arriving.

Don’t take this wrong, it’s not flooding and fish are being caught.

Ask about a week prior to arrival.

Curious, where are you camping at?

I am headed down this weekend. Any reports on what is working for walleye and sauger given the high water? In the river, in the lake, etc.?

I haven’t been out but talked to someone who was out last week and he said it sucked.
They pitched jigs on the rock shore lines and then lead lined. Got 2 sheepies and that was it.
    Maybe you’ll do better!

^ Who let that guy out of prison?

I won’t be on the water but I’ll see what I can sniff out over the next few days and report back.

Fished Friday and Saturday. We caught enough fish both days for a 3 man meal but it was not fast and furious by any means. Most fish caught shallow on crank baits. Water appeared to be falling both days.

    Thanks for the advice!
