Anyone have any water temp, ice, or fishing reports for the Oconto and/or Peshtigo areas? We have a trip planned for the 13-16 of April but we’re wondering if we should/need to change it to the 26-29 of April. We’re planning on jigging and trolling.

Thanks in advance for any info!

keep an eye on the east winds now… while there’s still ice on the bay, that’ll be the biggest pain… You don’t want to get caught with an iceflow closing the river mouth. It appears like the ice is reasonably far away, but an east wind will make change… be safe!!!

They’re calling for stiff east winds Friday and Saturday. Gusts to 45mph on Saturday.

Edit: now winds are 10-15mph Saturday
I hate that I love this time of year.

Anybody still going this weekend? Cancelled our trip twice already. Sattelite imagery shows nothing but cloud cover. Water temp dove from 44 back to 32. Weather for the weekend looks good with mid 40s and light winds. Wondering if the winds from this last storm pushed the ice back into the river mouth.

Today’s Oconto harbor webcam shows the harbor exit is blocked.

We made it out the day after Easter and it was awesome. We had to come back into the harbor for an hour and wait for an ice berg to pass. We went back out and caught a bunch.

Oconto harbor hit 38 today. Fish in the bay were still mostly prespawn.
