Oahu Hawaii Fishing Recommendations?

My wife and I are doing a week on Oahu (Honolulu & North shore) May 1-8 and she said we could go fishing for a day. we have a rental car for the week so we are willing to drive anywhere on the island.
I am wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a fishing charter/guide that has a top notch boat and awesome crew, I’m not looking for a busted old boat with Captain Quint. we are looking for a nice boat with a crew with a reputation for putting fish on the boat. we don’t have a specific species in mind and not too terribly concerned about coming home with fish just want a once in a lifetime experience catching whatever comes our way. Thanks in advance!

I haven’t used this fella but my guide (flyfishing) friend recommended Capt Hopper.
It should give you a place to start.

I don’t have a Fishing Guide recommendation but my GF and I were at Oahu this past October. Having a car down there is nice but parking is a pain down there. Also be prepared to sit in traffic. To go a couple miles takes a half hour sometimes. We always got up very early to beat the traffic down there. I really enjoyed my stay and hope you can get on some fishing!

I think we are just doing a few days in Honolulu and the rest on other parts of the island. thanks for the info.

As far as driving goes, I think it was easier to find a cab.
But then I only went four places over two days. The cabbie gave me his card and I just called him ahead of time. With tip I spent $80.

Might not work for you, but it’s a thought.

Congrats on a good decision, Hawaii is awesome.

We went out with a guide a few years ago and almost got skunked and it wasn’t overall a good experience for multiple reasons so I don’t have a good recommendation, but I would say you might want some motion sickness pills if you get seasick at all, my wife and I definitely needed them.

Sorry not much help as it relates to the question you asked but any other questions about Oahu feel free to ask, we had a blast and you will too!
