Our group of 6 fished 3 nights primarily on the West and North ends of lake. Overall the fishing was slow but we kept at it and still caught some quality fish. Water temperature is down to 40 degrees so we kept our trolling speed to about 1.2 to 1.4 mph with some S turns mixed in. Our best success came fishing just inside or outside the weed lines and weed/rock transition areas with shad profile crank baits in the darker colors. It was about 50/50 in terms of better luck holding rod with a few slow rod sweeps versus simply putting rod in the holder. All of the walleyes we caught were fat and healthy with a few slot fish mixed in, some in the low to mid 20’s and also some bigger walleyes. The weather wasn’t the best with some rain/snow mixed in and several different wind directions. Our best night was on Thursday when we had about 30 walleyes total between our 3 boats. Overall for our trip our group had about 9-10 walleyes that were 26 inches or bigger with our largest fish at 27 1/2. Here are a few photos from our trip. Did anyone else make it up for the November full moon? We only saw a couple of other boats. Good luck to anyone else heading up!

Very cool! I was up in Malmo hunting over the weekend and as I was walking out to the stand with a full moon overhead I wondered if anyone was out fishing. My greatest success has come trolling the November full moon but I only make it out if I’ve already bagged my deer. (which doesn’t happen nearly enough)

It must have been down right blustery out there with 20 mph winds and drizzle on Friday so you guys certainly earned every fish you caught… And from the sounds of it you did pretty darn well considering the weather. Well done!

Friday night was tough conditions. We got blown off of the West side when the wind switched and I dinged up my prop a little on the way back in to the landing. We ended up relocating to the North end around the Red Door area and getting a few walleyes. I have experienced good fishing around the November full moon as well. It is hard to cover allot of water in late Fall since you have to troll so slow due to the cold water temperature. So we try to target areas where we have caught fish in the past. If we catch a fish then we don”t troll much further before turning around and going back through the same area.
