Has anyone heard anything about Northland’s new glow spoon? The fleet farm in Carver doesn’t have much in for ice fishing gear at this point but these came in a couple days ago. They seem like an cool idea but I heard that you have to switch the glow stick every trip. It would be interesting to hear someone’s thoughts if they end up using one early ice.

I bought 1 because a friend of mine who is Northland pro staff talked me into trying them. We’ll see if they produce any better than the normal buckshot flutter spoons.

You do have to replace the glow stick after 8 hours of use. The glow stick is just like the one you would by for your kids but smaller.

Northland Tackle is always trying to separate themselves by creating new and innovative ideas for tackle. The Glo-Shot spoon was created to fill the void of having to re-charge a glow spoon every 15min. The mini glow stick attaches to the back of the flutter style spoon with secure notches built in and is removed by pressing it out with the tool provided from the opposite side. Glow sticks will last for 8+ hours and replacement packs of glow sticks are available to purchase. It should be a great addition to the tackle arsenal for those that like to chase late night walleyes and eelpout! Stop by the St. Paul ice show this year and chat with the Northland boys. We would love to show off the new lures and plastics to you!

I bought a ton of them at reeds on the weekend. They will be awesome on Lake Winnipeg as a more neutral lure, or in overcast days. I’m going to experiment deadsticking live minnows on them too.
