Like walleyes well enough but I don’t like crowds, so I’m planning on fishing for pike on the opener-Gonna fish in or near the metro-any suggestions? Looking for a lake the walleye guys will not go too (Rush has big pike but will be full of people) Anyone fish Grindstone for pike? Other ideas?
    Thanks.

I think there’s plenty that fish for pike. At least that’s my experience.

Try Coon lake maybe. Pretty quiet out there early in the morning.

    Does Bass open Saturday?

    C&R is open Saturday.

Will CW be a zoo sunday morning?

One of the better all species lakes in the area, you bet it will be crazy.

I’d head to Annandale and skip Clearwater or sugar. go pleasant, john, Sylvia, bass, mink, maple lake. beauty there is you can quit one lake and go to another rather quickly.

Just a friendly reminder musky fishing is not open.

Personally I would recommend targeting pike on a none musky lake.

I always get a kick out of those guys who I see throwing cowgirls and big rubber “targeting pike” who are clearly musky fisherman who cant wait for opener like the rest of us have to.

Pike and musky should open on the same date IMO.

Yeah Francis is only 10 feet deep at the most it’s a small spring fed lake with a stream coming in from the rum
