Was a great weekend to be on the water. We found willing biters in the main lake and merrifield bay all day long. I gave the jigging raps a whirl with no success, due to inexperience mostly. The rigged creek chubs were the magic bullet for us. There were plenty of green weeds down to 22-23 feet of water and the fish bit all the way down to 30 feet. The water temp was hovering at 60 and the fish weren’t on the feed bag like I thought, so the small to mid size minnows were key. Really want to thank the great group of folks at Skeeter Boat Center in Ramsey, the weekend wouldn’t have been near as fun without your help. Thanks Dean and Cal, sorry Cal didn’t share the cookies.
