    Hello Ice buddies,

Has anyone ice fished North Lake near Hastings/Redwing area? If you do what do you normally catch there and where do you launch from.

    Thanks!

Yup. Launch is on the north end of North lake. There is a large parking lot. It gets fished pretty heavily for a river spot. Crappie, Bluegill and Pike are the main three. Walleye can be had if you know where to find em. That area is never just OK…It’s either on fire or it’s dead and can change by the day. Move, move, move.

Thanks Merican Eagle, how is the ice there yearly mostly thin or does gets pretty thick at times.

Think I fished that one-was great and terrible. The time it was terrible nobody was out there, not cool to be a crowd follower but on such a well know spot that is easy to access if you go there on the weekend and you see nobody I would go to your plan ‘B” (have a plan B BTW)

Made it out on north today for just over an hour place was a zoo lot full and trucks lining up the road . First time there , managed one nice crappie and one pike in little over 1 hour missed a bite or two fishing in 5 feet of water roughly 7 inches of ice
