This is what the North break looks like as you go over it moving Southwest. I saw lots of perch in the weedline right before the break, which probably isn’t much of a surprise. The fish seemed pretty skittish and I didn’t get a lot of great looks at them. Mainly they were shadows in the distance that took off before I got close. Often times leaving a dust cloud on the bottom. These were taken Tuesday afternoon. It was pretty windy so I was just drifting.
Zebes are real heavy right at the break. I’m guessing due to the amount of water they can filter more so than type of substrate. They gradually thin out and then transition to no man’s land where you’ll predominantly see a lot of those invasive snails…banded mystery snails I believe, which are disgusting.
I was moving a decent clip so they’re not the clearest shots. The red things are crayfish. Most of the stuff floating are SWF and other zooplankton.
I got some good pics going out, up, and then on the mudflats I’ll try to post up later.
