Saw some articles about WI eliminating the hunting age last minute (and selling 9 licences to kids under 1). I couldn’t find info that didn’t reference children needing to be 10 to get a youth tag, or clear info on non-residents.
Anyone know if I can hop over from MN to hunt if my kid becomes mature/interested enough before he turns 10? I have at least a couple years, but it would be an interesting option.
From what I understood, regardless of resident or non-resident, the mentoring rules would apply
Keep in mind that the Pamphlet for deer hunting rules is only a summary. When anything appears questionable, best to email a field office for clarifications
“Hunting mentorship rules apply to all youth age 11 and under and to those ages 12–15
who have not completed hunter education. See page 26 for more information on the
hunting mentorship program.”
