For anyone looking, Fleet Farm in Hudson, WI has 89 octane non-oxy fuel again. They recently changed out/added some in-ground tanks. Unfortunately, it’s 60 cents per gallon more than regular 87 octane with ethanol, and only 10 cents per gallon less than 91 octane premium non-oxy, but if you run an engine that does not require high octane, 89 octane ethanol-free is the better choice.

This would be a ideal fuel for my boat. It needs the Non- Oxy but I don’t thing it benefits from the higher octane all that much. Wish some place closer to me had this option.

I wish 87-89 non-oxy was available more widespread. Not only do most average 4 strokes not benefit from 91, they may actually benefit from a lower octane. That is the case with my Canam Defender in cold weather.

both my defender and my boat recommend 87 octane but it is all ethanol in my area but I haven’t had any problems yet.

Kwik trip in Prescott, WI has 87 non oxy, for anybody looking. It’s significantly cheaper than the 91 non oxy and as you guys mentioned, runs great in the winter.

The issue with ethanol is when the outboard or other motor sits for extended periods of time. If you continually use the engine year round, you shouldn’t encounter issues.

I put non-ethanol in my outboard, lawn mower, and snow blower because they often sit for extended periods of time without use.
