To go along with your cellular trail cams, one of the companies I rep just came out with a new series of N/T signs

No Trespassing sign – for Kooty

Yes, I’ve seen a couple of those cropping up on gates and in other places.
Kind of like advertising QDMA practices on a no trespassing signs, it struck me as a bad idea to post a sign advertising the presence of expensive cameras. It’s not hard for someone to put a mask on and go looking for those cameras with no fear of being identified should the cameras get a picture.
I do feel for people who have property in areas where trespassing is commonplace. I see reports from Ohio, IL, and back east where guys are getting more pictures of trespassers on their cams than they are of game.

June 18, 2015 at 12:02 pm #1550821It seems like its getting easier for everyone to break the law I hear so many stories of treestands, cameras, and so on being stolen from private land that its just sickening. I’ve had more than my share of issues with people.
I know a lot of guys that are putting these signs up that don’t have cell cams. The premise is to scare them off from the “instant” texting of pics. Few guys have told they that they are seeing a reduction of trespassers on their land. Of coarse, the real time frame is in the fall when hunting season rolls around. But I’m in favor of anything that will detour the guy that is thinking about it. We all know that there is a percentage of people that will do it anyways.
June 18, 2015 at 1:50 pm #1550841While vacationing in Northern MN last week, I was reading the sheriff’s report in the local newspaper.
A fella from the cities had called in concerning a “break-in in progress” at his cabin up north. The caller was at home, in the cities, watching it play out on his home computer screen, the signal coming from his security camera located 150 miles north at his cabin. Not only could he watch it in real time, it was all being recorded as well.
June 18, 2015 at 2:10 pm #1550844I totally agree, the “real time” nature of a cellular camera would be a big help in catching a perp in the act.
I just don’t think I’d advertise the fact that the cameras are there. If a good old No Trespassing sign doesn’t get the message across, then better for the cam to catch the perp in the act and maybe be able to call the cops in on him.
Hopefully, over time trespassing perps become aware that there are eyes everywhere and it starts to discourage them.

June 18, 2015 at 10:39 pm #1550936Cellular cameras are the legal spring loaded shotgun.
I would put a sign up IF I didn’t have a camera on site.
July 30, 2015 at 3:20 pm #1557226My dad’s neighbor back home has had so many problems with trespassing, he put in a high end WiFi/Web cam solution on several areas of his land. It’s mounted up in the air on telephone poles and can be moved remotely via the app on his home computer. I’d put one on our CRP if I could get someone to foot the bill….

I am sure a sign like this on a wood line or gate could act the same way (with or without cameras up…). I like it!
August 26, 2015 at 8:45 am #1561828my brother works for securitas security systems as some type of field rep. he got them stickers plastered all over by the cabin. like thats gonna go any good. there a rent-a-cop security firm. the cabin is a mile off the main road back in the woods. next cabin is a good block away and in the summer cant see the place! might keep the honest guy honest!
