My BIL has a hunt scheduled in California, and asked for help finding ammo for his 270 cal rifle.
California requires it be NO LEAD bullets–
Is that ammo type available here, away from CA?
Not looking for alot–just needs to sight in, and hunt.
    Any help appreciated.

You’ll likely need to order it online versus looking for it in a store. Ammo in general is tough to find right now. I did a quick look around online and the pickings are slim.

    Barnes TTSX 130GR

PS I’ve not ordered from either of the websites I’ve linked on this thread. I’m just throwing out a couple options. Good luck.

ammo for his 270 cal rifle.

    Assuming 270win and not a 270wsm

I know Barnes had been shipping ammo out to dealers. It’s been bought up fast though. I would frequently check back on multiple websites and buy as soon as you find it.

As James put a link to, we’ve had outstanding results with the Barnes 130gr in the 270win

Yes 270 WIN, and he mentioned the 130 gr.
    THX guys.
Will look on those sites, plus more.
Buying online is a new experience for me.

When you find what you want don’t hesitate to buy it. It likely won’t be around long.

I currently handload 130 TTSX for my 270 Win and it may be one of the best overall projectiles for that caliber. Absolutely love the 130 TTSX.

    Thanks guys–wanted to report back;
BIL found some ammo after about 40 calls, and driving 3 hours to a gunshop in CA.
He sighted in a new scope with lead 130 gr, then shot some of the precious 130 copper loads–quite a difference, but workable.
    THX.

    Is this for hogs?

Not for hogs on this hunt–he will be hunting deer in California.
A neighbor in MN shoots copper for the bullet weight retention, penetration, and no lead in meat–so likely could work good on hogs too.
