No-funk boat shoes

I launch my boat alone a majority of the time and usually get in the water at some point in the process. I’ve had Keen sandals for many years and they are old and need to be replaced.

My only gripe with them is once they’ve been in the lake/river water they start to stink – especially on the drive home at the end of the day.

So what are people’s recommendation for a shoe that can get wet but doesn’t get the funky lake water odor??

    Embrace the funk.

Even my flip flops get bad, of course I add to the funk when a fish slimes them.
Every few days I use hot water, soap and an old toothbrush to clean them.

I have rubber boots in the truck 365 days a year for launching when there is no dock.

Launching at everts the past few days it has been scummy and slipping on my boots is quick and cuts down on the funk.

I can’t recommend shoes, but this stuff works pretty darn well for getting rid of the stank. It’s designed for wet suits; I’ve used it successfully on shoes and life jackets.

I’d find a way to not get your feet wet, adding ramps or something to trailer. Found putting on boots or using sandals was PIA for me.

Then again you probably have bunks on that pro bass, deeper launch.

I have worn the keen type sandals, flip flops, whatever you can think of, they all either stay wet or get dirty and funky.

I finally broke down and got Crocs this summer. THE best boat shoes – PERIOD.

However I still don’t like wearing them in public.

Keep a jug of clean water in the boat or truck. Giver your feet/sandals a rinse off once you get off the water.

    Careful of the Zebra mussels.

There isn’t much you can do about the funk except rinsing when you get how and drying them fast in the sun. Stay away from shoes with any fabric on them including laces, velcro and bungies.

I like wearing Crocs because they make me look thinner. NOT. They are comfortable and NO FUNK. People would die if I put a pair of my stinky shoes in the dish washer.

16 inch tall green rubber boots from Tractor Supply, they were about $30 and have lasted a long time. If I get cute and try dancing on the trailer, I’m going to end up standing in the river anyway so I might as well put the boots on and walk in.

CROCS! Hands down like others say. Comfortable, dry fairly quickly and quite stylish for people who don’t give a flying you know what for what others think!

Crocs, without a doubt the most comfy and fast drying no funk water shoe. In and out of the water all the time with them. Slip on slip off easy. BUT, when they start to get worn toss them and get a new pair. When they lose tread on the sole they can get real slippery on wet surfaces.
If you are worried about what people think get camo ones. Camo puts the man card back in anything
