As far as I know, as long as the chicken or eggs did not originate in Indiana, you are alright to bring it in. But I would ere on the side of caution and just buy up there, the prices may be better also. I believe they lifted the ban on MN, ND and WI chickens.
We take eggs and chicken across all the time. It’s not a problem anymore. There was an Avian bird flu scare a couple years back that made them restrict chicken and eggs, but that’s been lifted.
From what I read they could make you produce evedince your poultry was not bought or raised in Indiana. Not worth the hassle IMHO. Wally world 30 minutes over the border in Thunder Bay along with a few beer stores and a favorable exchange rate
When I crossed into Ontario in early May, they didn’t ask a single question about food. Just asked the normal questions of where ya going, whatchya doin, how long are you there, any firearms, any tobacco or alcohol? In fact, I’ve heard of this ban of certain foods (chicken, fruit, potatoes) but I’ve crossed the border multiple times in the last 3 years and not once have I been asked about food.
We take potatoes over as well. We’ve been inspected. They’ve seen the potatoes and fruits and said we’re fine. We’ve asked as well, going across, and there are no bans at this time.
