or at least a part of the day.
I drove down to the hunting land and went with the landowner to the woods to put up new “No Hunting” signs. As we approached the gate 4 nice deer trotted of up the hill. As we neared the property line what we posted. a dandy buck jumped out of his bed and wandered off into the neighbor’s piece of the woods, but he was far from nervous and just mosied off. The owner has been busy with buckthorn abatement again this year, mostly by spraying. His late fall agenda is cutting the larger stuff ahead of next spring’s spray sessions. He’s done some water hole improvements that will be great come hunting time. Another neighbor’s 52 acres in alfalfa again this year so late corn is not an issue.
With the cool of morning and ever so slight a breeze the woods were absolutely wonderful to be in. AND not a bug the whole while I was there. What a great day in the woods.
