If you were a casual hockey fan hopefully you realize why some of us love the sport.
Great event…
The real winner was the sport of Hockey. Almost a happy accident how well it worked out doing this instead of the all-star game. Some type of refresh was needed but I think this is a format that can be built on for years to come.
Congrats to Canada, I think they played the better game last night. I was careful not to thump my chest too much after the last game – it’s REALLY tough to beat that talent twice-in-a-row. But the same could be said for team USA, too. Glad it was a tight game and went to OT. That’s the way it should be.

Absolutely. Ratings were good and everyone was talking about it. The product on the ice did not disappoint, and I think any casual fans tuning in and seeing the gloves drop, seeing the Tkachuk brothers smash Canadians into the boards, or just seeing all the superstars they may have heard about all on the ice at the same time likely drew a few more to the sport.
It also happened at a time where the All-Star Games/Pro Bowls/Other exhibition games are being exposed for being not worth tuning in to. Ironic that the NBA All-Star weekend took place last weekend as well and almost every aspect of that has been getting hammered as a joke.
Canada gave the US a 25% tariff ass kicking last night
USA extends their best on best hockey drought to 29 years

I get it was a joke but that was not an ass kicking.

Yeah, far from an ass kicking.
Probably better they won. Canada has been getting dumped on a lot lately. Not that they dont deserve it but maybe this will give the people a boost they need.
Johnny has lots of keyboard time from mommy lately. I mean that’s all they have… without the USA military, Johnny would be typing in Russian today.
For how much sh*t the Americans talk, they’re pretty darn soft when the sh*t talking goes the other way. Eh?

100% agree. Amazingly “even” play IMO. Frankly, Canada’s missed goal that hit the pipe in the 3rd probably would’ve sealed it in regulation but whoever knows?
Cant believe I forgot about the game and watched the cooking channel instead.
We had our chance also, that puck sitting in front of the net and our guy could not knock it in from 12″ away.

A goose on top of an eagle.

I gotta give him credit…that’s pretty funny.

Honestly, it was hockey fan’s hockey game. Mostly defensive, superb goaltending and it had the stalemated feel of talent against talent. Lacking were the physical theatrics and hands-throwing of the first game. A HARD-PLAYED GAME, and a few good hits… but one that a casual fan might zone out of and just tune in for the last couple of minutes.
Those memes…
Congrats you maple syrup whiskey drinking reprobates.
Great hockey, but who thinks Binnington was robbed of the POG? Saved the W x3 point blank in OT to give McGinger a chance imo.
