The 2 roughing calls in the Chiefs game were an embarrassment to the NFL.
B-manPosts: 6186January 18, 2025 at 7:26 pm #2311495Would have like to see the Texans pull that off. Curious why at the end the Chiefs punter took a safety? Was that a Vegas thing??
As for the NFC, I’m pulling for the Lions
Hoping they go all the way!
They’ve never won a Superbowl. I couldn’t imagine what it must feel to be one of their fans??
January 18, 2025 at 7:42 pm #2311500They take a safety versus the potential of the Texans blocking the punt and scoring to make it a one score game.
January 18, 2025 at 7:51 pm #2311502Daniels doesn’t look fazed at all in the Lions den. The Lions could be in trouble.

Only if Gibbs breaks his leg.

I get that if there’s 5 minutes left, but with a minute and change with one time out there’s zero chance they could have caught up.
Even if they blocked the punt, got a TD, then a 2 point conversion, the Chiefs would have gotten the ball back and been able to kneel it out anyway? Am I missing something? Then maybe an on-side kick recovery and FG drive?
Those odds have to be astronomical. (blocked punt for a TD-then convert the 2pt-then recover an on-side kick [they’re not like they used to be]-then drive down to the 35 yard line-then make a clutch kick??)

Onside kick and then a FG. It’s super low percentage but if you remember last year The Chiefs scored in 13 seconds to beat buffalo.
B-manPosts: 6186January 18, 2025 at 8:17 pm #2311508^^^^ I was editing my post while you typed Matt
I thought about it, and there was “a” chance, but a crazy amount of things would have to have gone right to make it happen
(blocked punt for a TD-then convert the 2pt-then recover an on-side kick [they’re not like they used to be]-then drive down to the 35-ish yard line-then make a clutch kick??)
Glad I didn’t bet a $100 on that to happen ^^^^

The Kitties have some catching up to do
January 18, 2025 at 8:24 pm #2311512The Lions looked fazed, and now they are in real trouble, down two scores. They need to score before half or the game may have gotten past them like it did vs. Buffalo.

January 18, 2025 at 8:41 pm #2311520Kliff Kingsbury has had a hell of a run this year. He is an underrated football coach. He was the guy that got video game numbers out of 5’8” Kyler Murray who refused to watch film early in his career too.
January 18, 2025 at 8:59 pm #2311521How many more points does Washington have to score to win? I think 13 or 14 should do it.

I agree, terrible reffing, and the tackling in the NFL is questionable at best. Hard to watch running backs and big receivers attempted to be tackled up high and ran into.
January 18, 2025 at 9:50 pm #2311526It’s amazing the kitties are even still in the game with 4 turnovers.
January 18, 2025 at 9:52 pm #2311527The Lions defense is one injury away from using stadium food vendors to get 11 guys on the field.
I don’t have a horse in the race or love playing the “what if” game, but if the Lions had even half of the 18 guys healthy that they are missing…this would be a different game.
B-manPosts: 6186January 18, 2025 at 9:57 pm #2311530I was like what is that Lions TD celebration where they were burying a dead body when they were still behind, Huh?
Full drawPosts: 1294January 18, 2025 at 10:02 pm #2311532Aikman wasn’t very happy with the refs calls in regards to the hits on Mahomes.
He had made a comment about the NFL needing to deal with those types of calls. The Washington/Detroit game has been called decently. A missed call on Washington for the hit on Goff and the face mask call for a no face mask tackle against Washington.
TlazerPosts: 760January 18, 2025 at 10:07 pm #2311533Just be glad Chicago didn’t draft Jayden Daniels!
Knowing Da Bears, I bet Daniel’s wouldn’t be playing like he is if he had been drafted by Da Bears.
