…and then there were 8. This weekend’s games should be much better. The Eagles and Steelers did NOT belong in the playoffs. The NFL showcased perfectly why there used to be (and still should be) only 2 wildcard teams. Adding the third just waters it down. The slate of games is below. What are your predictions?

    Saturday, Jan. 22

    Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans

San Francisco 49ers at Green Bay Packers

    Sunday, Jan. 23

Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs

The NFL has proven time & time again they are all abut the money. If possible they would have all but 2 teams make the play-offs.

Completely agree. Neither team deserved to make the post season and I did not expect either of those games to be competitive. I’d rather have the NFL go back to 6 teams qualify in each conference and give the top 2 seeds a first round bye.

The Bills were the most impressive in the wild card round. They absolutely manhandled the Patriots and scored on every single possession they had. The Rams looked pretty good last night too.

The Bills-Chiefs game is going to be a good one. The divisional round is the best round if you ask me.

Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans: I think this game is extremely close. The Bengals are a fun team to watch and are constructed the right way. With a few more pieces up front they have a SB caliber roster. The Titans are essentially the 49ers of the AFC. They play downhill running the ball and use some good play action concepts and leverage routes to take their shots. My Pick = Titans 27, Bengals 24 in OT

San Francisco 49ers at Green Bay Packers: This will be another close game. The 49ers may be the hottest team in football without even having good QB play. Their style of play makes them a tough matchup for the Packers. Deebo Samuel has emerged as an all-pro caliber talent. I look for them to gash the Pack on the ground as in previous matchups while defensively pressuring Rodgers with just their front 4. The Packers will be at home and motivated to get over the hurdle. Rodgers should be healthier, but Bakhtiari and Turner are still question marks on the line. I can only assume all the coverages will be rolled towards Adams. It’s going to take someone else to step up and have a big night. My Pick = Packers 29, 49ers 27

Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: I am glad to see these two meet in the Divisional round. Los Angeles is the west coast version of the Bucs with both having guys brought in via free agency to make runs at a ring. They’re also the 2 easiest teams to cheer against in the league. The Rams looked the part against the Cardinals, but the Cardinals were really fading down the stretch of the season. Stafford will turn it over in key spots if he’s forced to win it alone. If the Rams stay balanced with their stable of Cam Akers and Sony Michel running the ball, they could pull off the upset. Brady is going to have to contend with an injury to his LT. Fortunately for him, the rest of the roster is jam packed with top tier talent. My Pick = Bucs 30, Rams 24

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs: This one has all the makings of a track race from the beginning. The Chiefs defense has shown its weaknesses and could allow a ton of points, while the Bills defense is good…it’s still taking on the most creative and talented offense in the league itself. This has the potential to be a career defining win for Allen even at his young age. KC has really benefited from the addition of McKinnon in their passing situations bringing a much needed boost at the RB position gutted with injuries. Buffalo has to be careful to stay balanced. KC has had trouble stopping the run in the past, but statistically are much better against pass happy teams. Some designed QB runs bringing an extra blocker to the point of attack could be key for the Bills. My Pick = Chiefs 34, Bills 31

The Bills are going to be a tough out. Im not sold on the Chiefs this year, but they seem to shine when they need to. The Bengals/Titans matchup is going to be the best one of the weekend I think. Bengals are legit and Burrow is going to be a stud if he can stay healthy.

The problem with KC is the slow starts. If Buf jumps out, not sure KC will be able to make up the difference. I got Buf in this one.

SF is setup good to beat the Pack, but somehow Rodgers figures out a way to win with lesser talent. I think SF got too beat up to pull out the win. Pack get this one.

TB and the Rams, I can see this go either way, with a blowout in either direction, or a last drive win for either team. TB is getting healthier, but I think its Stafford’s time, Rams in this one.

Titans and the Bengals, I had the Bengals all the way. Just a good all around team, and I can’t figure out how the Titans kept winning. Then I heard Henry will be back for this game, so I changed my mind. I think the Titans pull this out out.

I wish the Packers could play year round. No care in the world about wins/losses. It’s just so nice to plan my shopping trips around when the packers play. Grocery shopping during the 1st quarter almost guarantees an empty store. I even see people leave rivers/lakes to get home to watch the game. I appreciate their dedication!!! waytogo

Packers are starting to look a lot like thr vikings – supremely talented but always disappointing and failing when the bright lights come on. Will be interesting what yet another early exit in the playoffs means for rodgers this offseason. The 49ers are a better team then their record suggests bur overall pretty pathetic performance by the team with the best odds to win the SB

Niners blocked a FG, scored on a blocked punt, and kicked a game ending FG to win.

Special teams won the game for them.

    Get a haircut Rodgers.

I said all year that GB was not as good as their record. They had everything in their favor. #1 seed, home field, cold weather, And Rodgers. They poop the bed when put under pressure. Their special teams were ranked the worst in the NFL this year and they proved it today.

well that was about as disappointing as being a Viking season ticket holder. special teams been weak all year and cost them 10 points tonight, I’m going to root for the Rams now, Stafford been stuck on sucky teams and sucky coaches all his NFL career, he deserves a ring.
