Jags are saying Lawrence has a high ankle sprain. They showed him trying to walk into the locker room and it didn’t look good. This season really shows the value of a good backup QB with all the starters that have gone down.

We will see how many backup QBs win a playoff game.

So I guess you are saying that if the Vikings make the playoffs they will lose because they will be playing without Cousins?

The opponent they play could be without their starting QB too. There’s still 5 weeks left. No one is immune to the weekly physical rigors of the NFL. Just imagine what the Niners would look like without Purdy, what the Eagles would look like without Hurts, the Cowboys would look like without Prescott, or the Lions would look like without Goff. None of these teams would be near as polished or as dangerous without their stud starting QBs.

That is likely true in most cases Gim, but look at the niners last year when Purdy (Mr Irrelevant) came in and set the NFL afire. Jake Browning looked pretty dang good last week too.
Its crazy how many injuries to QBs this year!

What the heck, did you read my original post? All I did was mention the value of having a good backup QB with all the injuries that happened this year to starting QB’s. Doesn’t your post just verify my original post of having a good backup QB?

Sure but finding a real starter is hard enough. Finding a backup that will win you multiple games is not very good.

If the Steelers lose to the Patriots tonight that will about rock bottom. Trubisky looks terrible.

Well Trevor Lawrence is playing today. Guess I was wrong about that. Crazy to me!

Cowboys put the “hurt” on Hurts and the Eagles last night. Dallas is a really good team at home.

I still think that the Eagles will win the NFC East based on the remaining schedules though. Philly has the Giants twice and the Cardinals, while Dallas plays the Bills, Dolphins, and Lions.

It does appear that SF will take the top spot in the NFC now and earn the first round bye though.

Here’s some interesting stuff regarding QB’s drafted in the top 10 from 2008-2021:

Busts: Sanchez, Locker, Gabbert, RG3, Bortles, Winston, Mariota, Trubisky, Darnold, Rosen, Daniel Jones, Z Wilson, T Lance

Overdrafted but long career: Baker, Tannehill, Bradford, Wentz

    Solid: Goff, Tua, Kyler

Franchise: M Ryan, M Stafford, Lawrence, Newton, Luck, Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert

From Peter King: Philadelphia’s defense is in trouble. Philly’s given up 34, 42 and 33 points in the last three weeks. Most disturbing: In those three games, foes have had 30 possessions. The Eagles have surrendered points on 19 of them: 13 touchdowns, six field goals. And only seven stops (five punts, one fumble, one interception). That is unsustainable football if you want to win in January and February.

It’s almost like scouting, evaluating, and ultimately drafting is not easy….

Mahomes should be suspended at least 2 games for his behavior on what Clearly was the right call by the officials. But because it’s Mahomes, nothing will happen. The NFL protects him like they did Brady

Most of the pro leagues definitely don’t take kindly to direct public criticism of officials.

I’ve always liked Mahomes and he seems like a pretty good person but man that was not a good look for him. I think one of the worst parts caught on video was his post-game quick handshake/chat with Josh Allen when all he did the whole interaction was complain about the call. It’s out of character for him so maybe he’ll come clean on it and apologize, but I agree that was very unsportsmanlike.

I see both sides with Mahomes. It was really the perfect storm of a very rare call. But guess what? It was another WR that cost him the game. If anything he should be mad at his WR corps. Very rookie mistake by Toney, who often makes stupid mistakes.

    Suspended? Cmon man.
What are you going to suspend him for naughty language.

Agreed, no way he should, or will, be suspended. That is a BS call they just started enforcing more this year. It bit the Vikings once on a FG try we were trying to block. Guy lined up just barely in the neutral zone, and they flagged him, opposing team went on to get 7. It is BS because for the entirety of NFL history, the refs would just yell at a WR/DB/DE that was in the neutral zone to get back, and if they didn’t they would get warned and a 2nd offense flagged. Meanwhile Lane Johnson false starts by a split second on nearly every shotgun pass and whistling whistling whistling

Saw Mahomes go off after the game and then the presser. I’ve lost all respect for him. Clearly lined up in the neutral zone.
Tim Hasselbeck said it was the correct call.

If it was a lesser named player in the NFL going after a ref where the teammates had to hold him back you don’t think Goddell wouldn’t throw the book at him? They are throwing guys out of games for less than that. You do watch NFL games right?

I had nothing against Mahomes ever but his actions turned me off.

I also think that it’s a bit blown out of proportion because of Mahomes profile. If it was a lesser known player it wouldn’t get the coverage and we wouldn’t be talking nearly as much about it.

I agree with that 100%. Tony Kadarius, or Kadarius Toney was way over the line and the call was legit. That being said it got more news coverage because mahomes is a big name. I still respect him, but agree with the call. He’ll get over it and keep playing. Just another good week in the NFL.

Again what are you suspending him for.
Coaches go ballistic on refs all the time. Never suspended.
He didn’t break any rule so why should he be suspended.

Really they are throwing guys out of games for less? Example please.

I was and still am a big Maholmes Fan. He plays the game with a ton of Passion and sometimes that passion gets out of hand. Was it the correct call? Yes. Was it a call that gets made consistently? No. After all the bad calls against KC last week I think some of Maholmes reaction was carry over from last week. KC is just struggling a little this year. That said, I would not bet against them still being there at the end. They always seem to play their best around playoff time.

So does Staley make it to the end of the game? I think he says, F it, about 7 minutes into the 3rd, slams down the headphones, and wanders off into the crowd.

Yeah, 42 – 0 second largest halftime lead in NFL history. Trainwreck! The comentators were wondering if he would be first coach to get fired at the half.
